Gas turbine controls
VBR Turbine Partners specialize in Control and Instrumentation services for LM2500, LM6000 and LM1600 engines.
Our highly skilled engineers can solve all problems with Woodward and SpeedTronic control systems, related to LM engines and packages.
VBR has 25 years of control and instrumentation experience. We can troubleshoot, upgrade and maintain critical control systems, vibration systems and HMI systems.
DLE mapping
In addition to Woodward Micronet systems, VBR engineers can work with Speedtronic.
VBR’s Autotune DLE system continuously optimizes emissions and reduces CO₂ and NOx emissions while maintaining performance throughout the year. AutoTune also optimizes fuel consumption and reduces when the engine operates in bleed control.

Full loop calibration
Did you know that 95% of problems are caused by package malfunctions? By performing a full loop calibration, we can recognize and respond to upcoming issues before they become problems. This procedure helps you maximize your gas turbine uptime and avoid downtime.
Our added value
Unlike other providers, VBR can perform a comprehensive Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) in-house using a simulator. This test provides an overview of potential problems. It also significantly reduces installation and commissioning time.
Through our emergency call out service, you can speak to an engineer 24 hours a day – 7 days a week.

Retrofit solutions
VBR provides retrofit solutions for control systems, vibration systems and HMI upgrades. This includes installation & commissioning.
We can upgrade all Speedtronic systems to a Woodward MicroNet+ system. This enhances your control capabilities, increases reliability and extends the life of your equipment. If a problem occurs, you can better analyze the data.
Top 5 questions about C & I services
These are the top 5 questions our customers ask about C & I services. If you have other questions, contact us.
01Can a difference in megawatt output between my two turbines be related to mapping?
Yes, it can. A difference of less than 0.1 or 0.2 megawatts is often insignificant. If the difference exceeds 1 megawatt, investigate further with DLE mapping. After you review the mapping, additional troubleshooting can resolve any discrepancies. VBR can help you with a Technical Audit.
02Can VBR assist with motor controller configurations for valves?
Yes, we can. If the motor controllers have incorrect configurations, then problems can arise. The proper settings must be configured before installation, especially with DIP switches on motor controllers.
VBR can guide you through the installation process. We also sell motor controllers through our webshop, ensuring you have everything you need for a smooth installation.
03I’m considering a controls retrofit. Why should I upgrade my control system?
Control systems are critical for gas turbines. Keep in mind that control system reliability declines sharply after 15 years. Sometimes the OEM stops providing parts, updates and service. When you invest in a controls retrofit, you will experience reliability and availability improvements and save money in the long run.
04Is it safe to operate our HMI using Windows XP?
Microsoft no longer supports this platform, so no, it’s not safe to operate your HMI with Windows XP—in fact, it’s very risky. You should immediately upgrade for security and performance reasons. VBR can help you upgrade your HMI to the latest version of Windows.
05We’re experiencing problems with our 3103 gas valve. Do you have any recommendations?
Using a 3103 gas valve with a TM55P actuator will cause problems. The TM55P is hydraulic and obsolete. Replacing the 3103 with the GS40/50 may be the solution. VBR can provide the parts and perform the on-site configuration to ensure your control system is updated correctly.
