Power plant relocation
VBR Turbine Partners provides expert engineering and management support to ensure a smooth and efficient power plant relocation. We guide you through the entire process, from preparation and disassembly to transportation and reinstallation.
Our priority is minimizing downtime and optimizing performance once your power plant is back in operation.
- VBR keeps your downtime down
- GE engines - LM2500, LM6000, LM1600
- We manage the entire relocation process
- We ensure minimal disruption to your operations.
Our process includes
A thorough inspection
The relocation process starts with a comprehensive inspection of the power plant while it is still running at its original site. The engine parameters are assessed to confirm its condition, helping to predict performance after relocation.
Disconnect the power plant
Following the inspection, the power plant is disconnected from its package, including fuel lines and control systems. It is then carefully extracted and placed in a specially designed shipping container. If required, VBR can provide customized shipping solutions.
Reassembling your power plant
After transportation, VBR reassembles the power plant and integrates it into the new package. Our engineers reconnect the fuel lines, electrical systems, and control cables. Critical components such as the air intake, exhaust stack, and filtration systems are then installed.
Top 3 questions about power plant relocation
These are the top 3 questions our customers ask about power plant relocation. If you have other questions, feel free to reach out via the buttons below:
01Are there restrictions as to where VBR provides relocation services?
Typically, there are no restrictions provided that local governments must permit us under green or orange travel advisories. We strictly follow all regulations and guidelines to have the necessary permits and licenses to work in foreign countries.
02Can VBR relocate a trailer-mounted gas turbine with the trailer and its components?
VBR focuses on relocating the gas turbine and related equipment, such as the power turbine and essential supporting systems. While we are fully equipped to remove, transport, and reinstall the gas turbine itself, we do not handle the complete relocation of the trailer or all components attached to it. Tasks such as moving multiple trailers to a new location or managing non-gas turbine-related equipment fall outside our scope.
03Can VBR transport auxiliary equipment and related parts for gas turbine relocations?
VBR manages the transportation of auxiliary equipment and related parts required for gas turbine relocations. We also provide the manpower to supervise the relocation process and the equipment for handling LM2500 and LM6000 turbines.
VBR ensures that all tools and testing equipment needed during the relocation are available and properly used. Additionally, we offer custom transport containers for sale or lease to ensure the safe and secure transportation of the turbines and their components.
